Gain the skills to perform production, maintenance and repair welding for manufacturing and construction. Learn about blueprints, equipment maintenance and the various welding processes and settings. Demand is high for welders with up-to-date skills; new processes have created many job opportunities for welders with these abilities. You can earn the Welding Fundamentals certificate on the way to completing this technical diploma. Your credits can be applied toward completing the Advanced Metal Fabrication technical diploma. Graduates of this program can receive advanced standing in MATC s Welding Technology associate degree program. For enrollment purposes of ABE Career Pathway students, a GED/HSED/HS credential is not required. Show More

The Welding certificate focuses on SMAW and GTAW processes. The Welding technical diploma focuses on GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, FCAW and prepares students for jobs in manufacturing or construction. The Advanced Metal Fabrication technical diploma focuses on fabricating and welding using pre brake rollers, laser plasma cutters, and fixturing. The Advanced Metal Fabrication students produce projects using GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW. The Welding Technology AAS degree prepares students to become certified welding inspectors or programing robotic arc welding.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
